Breaking News!In 2004 the Australian
Government Department of Health and Ageing released “The Way
Forward”, outlining the government’s agenda of streamlining service
delivery across Commonwealth funded services, including the National
Respite for Carers Program. Services were asked to look at the
structure of their organisations and indeed at service delivery
across their regions to develop innovative models for their local
areas that would benefit community members. As part of this process
FSG Australia was required to re-apply to maintain its auspice of
Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre Brisbane South (CCRC-BS) as well
as for CCRC South Coast as well as applying to streamline
Commonwealth Carelink Centres with Commonwealth Carer Respite
Centres in each region.
We are happy to inform you that FSG
Australia have been successful in gaining the continued funding to
operate CCRC in Brisbane South . As part of the model put forward by
FSG to provide greater access to services across the Brisbane South
region, Commonwealth Carelink Centre (CCC) will be joined with CCRC
to form an integrated service. It is hoped that this model will
reduce duplication of services and ensure that people can access
appropriate services when they need it. The combined CCRC/CCC will
be a central referral point for the region.
